This is my contribution to the book Ninoy: Art and Essays.
Collected and published independently by Justin Benigno Aquino-Cruz. I received a couple of old pictures of Ninoy (pics on the plane right before he was shot) to reinterpret for the artwork, and I thought why not use them all and make it a comics page! So these are just referenced pictures I translated to jet black and white. I chatted after with Carlo Paguayan about his opinion to the idea to incorporate Ninoy's last media interview as the captions. He even suggested to use the old typewriter font. 11x17 art paper pen and ink. |
